Ugh, so awesome. These had obviously all been burned to the ground by the time I came of playground age in the early 80’s.
There was something like this near my house growing up. It was more Apollo-era rockets than Star Trek, the kind of thing that encapsulates American enthusiasm from the space age. The city tried to replace it a few years ago, but apparently the community was successful in getting some of the structures preserved. Kids can’t play on it any more, but the nostalgia has been saved.
